DDA 620: Graphics Programming_Final project: Color Cue
Color Cue is made by Processing.A webcam can detect the audiences’ colors as if it is a tracker. The project should be set up in a white chamber. When people pass by the webcam, they will see words around their bodies. These words represent the viewers’ colors. Most words are “adjectives” and they have unique meaning to represent different colors. The words also reveal the viewers’ personality.

DDA 620: Graphics Programming_Midterm project: Poetic Lots

About this artwork
A short description
The artwork consists of two main frams. In the beginning, users will see five dynamic lots which are moving up and down. When they move their mouse, the lots will turn. There are three words shown near their cursors: Draw your lots. When they click one of the lots, it will show a random lot which is Chinese calligraphy. In this frame, the lot's English version will trace the mouse location.
Concept
The artwork is exploring the relationship between reproduction and the original. These lots are originally used in an ancient Buddhist temple located in Asakusa, Taito, Tokyo. The pronunciation of lots is "chien" in Taiwanese. As a result, it is not only translated as lots but also translated as "chance" in English. In this artwork, if users play it several times, they will find all of the lots belong to "good chance." This is the main part which differs from the original lots. This artwork is as if a drawing lots game which can satisfy all users' dreams. No one likes bad luck. When the original objects were mechanically reproduced, they can be formed variously. They may lack their original cult values but their new digital form can bring the audience a new point of view and fun.
